Real Estate

At Carolina Dirt Law, we'd love to help you with your real estate needs.  We can help you with the following matters:

  • Residential closings (cash and loan closings, Home Equity Lines)
  • Seller Documents
  • Deed transfers
    • Creation of marital deeds
    • Deeds to effectuate estate plans or administrations
    • Gift Deeds
  • Other real estate instruments
    • Easements
    • Boundary line agreements
    • Free Trader agreements
    • Limited Power of Attorney
  • Title work
    • Searches
    • Title Cure
      • Please note that our office does not currently handle litigation or special proceedings.  If you request a title search on property that requires a title cure (for example: buying property at a tax foreclosure), Carolina Dirt Law will provide you with the steps necessary to receive marketable and insurable title to said property.  If that cure requires litigation, we will be happy to refer to a practice that does handle that type of service.

Estate Planning

Carolina Dirt Law can help you with more than just closings! Let us protect that big investment in your new piece of dirt by getting an estate plan in place.  We are happy to assist you with:

  • Last Will & Testament
  • Revocable Living Trusts
  • Testamentary Trusts
  • Healthcare Power of Attorney
  • Durable Power of Attorney
  • Advance Directive (aka Living Will)

We are ready to help you.

Real Estate, Closings, & Estate Planning Legal Team

Meet the team

Attorney Kelly Walker. I first discovered my love for real property in law school. After my first year, I knew I wanted to be a closing attorney even though I'd never seen a closing. After graduation, I was offered a job with a Greensboro law firm as a paralegal and then attorney doing exclusively closings.  It was then I realized just how exciting real estate is.  I knew I was officially a Dirt Nerd.

Dirt Law.  Seems like such a funny name but it is exactly what we deal with as real estate attorneys.  Sure, your house is on the dirt, but it is ultimately the dirt underneath that will always be passing from one owner to the next.  We want our land to be transferrable and the way we do that is to make sure you have marketable and insurable title.  Dirt law may seem really dry and boring to the majority of people, but to me it is fun and entertaining.  One of the reasons dirt law is entertaining to me is because our ownership of land is a record of our family's history and connection to our community.

It is our family's history where dirt law intersects with estate planning. The ownership of land has long been a key method to creating and maintaining generational wealth. One of the best ways to protect and preserve that generational wealth is through estate planning. Your home is likely one of the most significant assets you own so why not pass it on with a proper estate plan?
